Carb rebuild

Have an 89 yj with carter carb.. Question is how hard is it to rebuild the carb? I've never really worked on carbs before other then on small engine carbs like law mowers and atv's. I noticed some leaking around the gaskets of my carb today

It's not that difficult......... Do a search on the web for Carter Carbs. You may have some minor issues with tuning afterwards based on how much emissions equipment you have?

I found a rebuild kit at oreillys, think I might swing in and get one

The kits normally come with instructions, if you've ever built models as a kid the procedure will be familiar. I run a Carter AFB and the instructions are even simpler than Tamaya's

Got the carb done starts up a lot faster now. Now have to figure out the knocking noise
