So my friend has a 98 jeep tj. I guess that they where taking an amp out of the glove box and arced a wire. Now someone else removed the burnt wires and replaced the battery. Everything worked for about a month. Then he took it in for a remote starter to be installed. He got it back at the end of the day with no starter and no gauges working. no check engine light nothing! So now the thing is in my garage. It won't start. When the key is on no lights in the dash go on except with the headlights. Theres no power to the coil or the fuel pump. checked all fuses and relays all looks good. Could it be a factory security issue? What do you guys recommend. And does anyone know where i can get some wiring diagrams?

First, i would take it back to whom ever installed the remote starter and have them fix it if everything worked prior to the remote starter installation. I would suspect that there is an issue with the main ignition circuit that powers up the PCM from the ignition switch. Check all the MAXI fuses and the pcm fuse in the PDC. An indication that it's a factory security issue would be a blinking red lamp on the instrument cluster. Does it blink with the key on after a few seconds?

I have checked everything. All the fuses in the PDC. all the relays. I've narrowed it down to the auto shut down circuit. Its ground activated and controls the fuel pump. Checked all the grounds for the pcm.checked some of the wires coming out of it. I haven't checked for power from the ign switch. And the remote starter place said that they could install the starter becuase of evidence of electrical fire! only problem is that they installed it, then cut out all there wires. Monday i'm going in to tell them whats up. And yes they are gonna be paying for it

X 2 with take it back to who ever installed remote start ,
I'm sure they'll fix what ever they screwed up if there a reputable shop to avoid a bad rep :D:shades:
