Long time no see guys I've missed this place. College blinded me with all this new social networking stuff I lost touch with Jeepz. I came back on for nostalgia reasons and I hope to not disappear this time. My jeep has gotten a little bit more built since last time you've all seen it bit its not so much improved to warrant pictures. Now catch me up!!!

Hey ScubaDude ! Welcome back brother ! Just want to say a quick hello before getting to work and say thanks for your post(s) and looking forward to pics of new additions of the JK and any college experiences you may wish to share as well as anything else . Miss ya bro . Thanks again , Greg

Well they are menial changes. Left my doors off in a good rain storm so I ripped out the carpet to let the water drain. I have no intention of putting the carpet back in but I need to come up with something to act as a heat shielding between front seats and engine compartment. I am toying with how to mount a CJ mirror on the driver-side so that I don't have to fudge around with mirrors every time I take my doors off but its turning out to be a bigger challenge then I had thought it would be. Stuff like that. As far as college. Newly undecided and broke as hell, haha.

image-4160645924.jpg Sorry to hear that funds are low to nonexistent , but when available I suppose you'll want to do something like this ? as far as heat shielding , the factory insulation in the carpeting was supposed to handle that but since your opting not to reinstall , yeah , some thought will have to go into that. I guess the factory zinc shielding between the catalytic converters isn't cutting it for you. Guessing you want to go with the bare floor thing that CJ's had back in the day ? Hmmmm ....

I'm sure you've researched options such as these , it's nice to know the JK has so much aftermarket support.

Just had a brain fart which may be a good idea as a heat shield. In the construction industry, they use this 1/2 inch thick black rubber when they are constructing what they call a floating floor. Acquire some of that material, [ perhaps from home depot] and cut some 1" squares which you would attach to the bottom, space them maybe 6 " apart . this would give you an airspace between the metal floor and the rubber covering the floor.

X2 on the pics . Can we get a photo shoot of the JK ? Will give us ideas of mirror relocation . Hope the carpet removal and insulation job going well .
