Ax5 trany to 4.0 ?

No. You wouldn't want to, not designed to handle the power of the 4.0L engine.

RE: Emmissions for a V8ed CJ

Well I noticed in 4wd hardware that they made and adapter for an ax5 to small block chevy, The only thing they said was not recomened for engine's over 300 hp. Which got me thinking.

Sure, but why? It really is a turd and probably won't last behind a 4.0L. If it is a transmission you already have and are doing it because you can't afford to do anything else, then go easy on it, but I think you'll regret it.

for the price of adapting it, you can buy a used ax-15

RE: Transfer case removal

Understood,Bad idea. Maybe if I loosen my belt I won't squeek when I walk!!

Yep, for the price of a bellhousing adapter you can get a drivetrain strong enough to handle the engine.

Which proves they will leave their customers out in the rain just to make a dollar. Every person that has ever bought that adapter should get together and go beat the hell out of the guy who designed it.

Well.. there are some really tired SMBs out there that would be ok powering an ax-5... but if at least 6 cylinders get compression, and 4 of those 6 get spark, its not a good idea.
