maybe we will survive his term, it looks pretty bleak. Maybe eventually he will smooth talk the economy back. If people were not so greedy and live way above their means most wouldn't be in the shape they're in. I agree with O'Reilly.
Your likely right about people living above there means. But think about two pyramids, one the distribution of wealth and the wealthiest being at the pinnacle (the top) and you (the majority) being nearer the wider base.
And then the other way around, as an inverted (upside down) pyramid with you at the pointy end (on the bottom).
Taxes going up faster than your wages, washing machines that last half as long as they used to, insurance costs going up faster than your wages, fuel, water, electricity, the list is endless. A whole bunch of very sharp people working all day long trying to figure out ways to get a larger piece of your paycheck and actually don't produce anything but money for the people in the first pyramid. Isn't surprising the weight of it all makes the upside down pyramid unstable and prone to collapse.
People over extend themselves looking for the good life, the system holds you up by the ankles and shakes whatever is left over out of your pockets. All those business school graduates, dreaming up ways to fleece the consumer. While you are just one person, trying to make decent decisions, your seriously outnumbered. The system is designed to be too complicated for the average guy to fight or even understand.
A typical markup, used to be around 63%, say twenty years ago. Today, markup starts at 100% (sometimes much more), the price of whatever product you buy, 150-200% of what it was twenty years ago. So your costs have gone up 200%, have your wages? Remember the first pyramid, the more you make the fewer there are of you.
the system has even added layers. The distributors and managers talk (collude) and decide they'd rather sell one at a high price than two at a fair price, distribution (and often manufacturing) is a gang. The government doesn't complain because they get a percentage of the end sale, the system keeps the prices high. You get taxed on your gross (before taxes) and then again when you actually spend it.
Government doesn't produce anything, they say they supply services, but we all know that is mostly a myth. Government exists for it's own benefit. People don't realize, that a persons pay grade in governemnt is pegged by the persons budget. The more they spend, the more they make.
I think prayer has as much of a chance as working as anything else, besides maybe revolution and starting all over again from scratch.
