Add a leaf question

I'm looking to put a few inches under my 90 YJ and I'm thinking the add a leaf might be an option. i know it will stiffen the ride but hey if I wanted my jeep to ride like a caddy I woulda bought a TJ. Stiffness isn't really that big of a deal to me. My jeep isn't sprung over so axle rap isn't a problem either. How much lift would this give? How much to they go for? Is this a bad idea or a good mod for my Jeep??

I was thinking of doing the same to my 90 YJ (long leaf). everytime I´d ride across the railroad tracks near my house, I´d decide to forget it.
I probably would if I was twenty years younger and didn´t have crowns on my teeth.
They say an inch and a half, to two inches of lift.

If you use long leaves there won't be much difference in the ride. I used the top 4 leaves from a pair of front YJ spring packs. This gave me about 1.5" of lift and ensured the same spring rate all the way around. Best think is it was only $50.

i got some leaf packs from a half ton pickup and seperated the packs by size... then seperated my own packs... tested the rate/length and put them back together making 4 spring packs. I made my front packs a little more durable due to engine weight... I ended up with a total of 2" all around, and it has settled out to about 1 3/4" inches over time

Is this an easy mod or will this take some time? If i add this to my 3.5 inch lift i already have will i need a new driveshaft or should I be alright? Should I go to the junk yard for these or should I get em from a magazine or website??

I added a set to a van I had once (1/2 ton van) - it liftes it about an inch, and didn't adversely affect the ride.. if you have saggign springs it will restore the ride to closer to new... if they arent sagging, it will stiffen up more than stock.

it IS an easy mod... but you won't want to add them to a 3.5
