88' Wrangler problems

Got an 88 Wrangler and my dad rebuilt the carb today and put it back on and it wont idle worth a crap, it didnt idle great before. It's flooding all the time and dont really know what to do, any help??

I would do the nutter bypass, it will make your jeep run better, I'm not sure if it will cure your problem but for the 20 minutes it takes to do the bypass it is well worth it.
 
does your jeep still have the stock carter carburetor? if it was rebuilt today and is flooding recheck the float. if you go to the how to section of this website there is a fix for your carter under the engine section. but even if you do get it running right its only a matter of time before you have to screw with it again. been there done that, there are alot of other options out there if you have the cash. weber, holley, and motorcraft. i switched to a weber on my 90 yj, it was a little troublesome on inclines but fine on the street. i now have a four barrell holley on a 80 cj5 and i have no problems on the trails or the street. if you dont have the cash just check out the how to section and keep a screw driver by your side :wink:
