31" Spare Tire

My '03 Rubicon came stock with 31" (LT245/75R16) Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs. No problem on stock carrier. Not sure if there are difference between mine and a '99 TJ though.

You should be fine as long as the offset of the wheel isn't too much to where there's not enough contact on the rubber bumper or too much contact where the tire is pushing against the bumpers causing the tire carrier to pull away from the door. In either which case , the rear door is going to crack for stress.

Yes I have a 05 Rubicon with a 31" spare.
Note: I took 1" blocks and used longer bolts and moved up
the 3rd brake light. So I can run a bigger spare.

It will fit but it is tight against the 3rd brake light..I also used longer bolts and some spacers to raise the brake light.

You can also use a 1" square tube and cut it to size. Drill the holes matched with the spare tire bracket and install longer bolts like XT Master stated.
