WTF?!?

Ok, got to thinking about this mess yesterday at work between naps.....is it IFS in the 2wd model? I'm guessing it would just about have to be, wouldn't it? Ya know what, if so, that signals the beginning of the end........

No that's not IFS. It being a total POS is bad enough. IS this what German engineering is doing these days? Oy Vey :(

The beginning hell... Jeep is dead in my eyes. The last real Jeep was the last '06 model.

Please tell me this is a pic of the rear of a 2wd. Cause if not some one has lost their cotton pickin ever luvin minds!

That shock mount would be nice while someone takes their 2WD "Rubicon" over an obstacle. Man that thing could get hung up pulling off a lawn onto a curbed street.

SWEET!

Well they have the real deal in Hanover... my 10 yr old said it was "That's a Jeep?!?!?! It's ugly, and it looks like a Hummer"

I told him it just made ours that much cooler.

Solid axles with dana on them, a boxed frame, 32"s stock tires, removable roof and doors, over 200 horses, available in short wheel base, easily upgradable(lift kits are already available), And hey - that two wheel drive model - why pay for what your gonna rip out. YOU KNOW YOU WANT DANA 60'S AND AN ATLAS AND A NV4500 DONT YOU.

If I was going to do all that, I certainly wouldn't need an '07 TK with power windows and locks, a Rubicon package...

I'd do it with a real Jeep... one that looks like a Jeep, drives like a Jeep, and well... is a Jeep.

A 4 door 2WD Hummer lookalike is no Jeep to me.

Wasnt the xj available in the same options. They were not jeeps either?

That's a good point, but they weren't built on the Wrangler platform. You know... TJ YJ CJ... the "traditional" Jeep. The kind of Jeep that my kids think of when someone says "Jeep".

I tell ya, I was pretty optimistic about the '07 SWB TK Rubicon. It's got some nice upgrades, and it is arguably the most capable Jeep in stock form ever built. My problem is after seeing that thing at the dealer this week, my view has changed. That picture BH posted made it worse. They are obviously catering to a different market.

I guess I should just appreciate the fact that there is still a decent SWB Jeep being built, but damn that thing was butt ugly and it just looked like such a... I dunno... I just felt slighted. It just takes something away from the whole image of what a Jeep is and ought to be. It was really disappointing. Maybe when I see the new Rubi I'll feel better about it.

I just think it's funny how your perspective changed when you dumped the grocery getter for a real Jeep. Even you yourself said in that thread that waving to a stock XJ is a "waste of time".
