Hi all.

I recently completed a job on our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.7 V8). I had popped a rocker on the 8th cylinder, and the valve seats were busted on two others. (i have pictures).

I replaced both cylinder heads with remanufactured, new everything inside the cylinder heads (valve, cams, etc...)
New chains, guides, tensioners. Timing was all done to spec.

It runs GREAT. Sounds great, no problems with the engine EXCEPT:

When I get up to temp, my oil pressure light dings when I get below 1000 RPM. I replaced the oil pressure sensor, no dice. I bought a pressure tester, and hooked it up.
I get about 6-8 PSI when I'm warm, unless I rev the engine.

I've read where oil screens get clogged. I'm trying to avoid replacing the oil pump because its a big job, and involves taking it all apart again.

What would you do next?

No ticking from the engine, no codes on the dash. Just that oil pressure light when it gets warm.

Thanks.

Didn’t say the magic words.

Using correct oil viscosity?
Good filter like wix ?
Was the pan dropped? Pickup clogged? Oring on pickup missing or not seated?
Do anything to the bottom end?

You can run some transmission fluid through the engine for 10 mins to see if it will clean anything out that might be in there. Just add a quart and idle it and than change the oil
