Got another one for ya guys. So i wrecked my bumper pullin my sister in law out of the snow. So i started makeing one and got it on the truck lined it up and started welding it up. Well i forgot to unhook the ground on the battery befor i started welding. Fired it up and it idles at 2000 rpm. Went and checked the TPS to start figuring out what i did and cannot get any voltage readings at all from there. I turned the TPS clockwise as far as it can go and now it idles at 1100. No backfiring or sputtering tho. Any ideas were to start looking?

I did clean the ground at the dipstick stud and between the firewall and the engine block. Maybe i disconected something from there?

Check around where you cleaned the conection to see if you disconected something. Any ends not hooked to anything? if so try to find other end. check end for grease. It may not have ever been hoocked to anything. Wiggle any conections in the area to see if there not getting a good conection. You may have fried the computer. Disconect the plug at the back of the carburator and see if that makes a diference. This would make a good time to make your YJ into a computerless rig unless you're in a state that has smog inspection.

It turned out to be a bad factory crimp up by the firewall. I must have wiggled it loose while cleaning the ground up there. It an MJ by the way.
