Can anyone share any positive or negative experiences with this Jeep. I'm a motorcycle guy and I just bought my first Jeep. I don't know a thing about cars and I would like to learn and maintain my Jeep. I already ordered the haynes repair manuals.



Is there a search option on this website so that i can research old topics on this Jeep.

It's a 2.8 lt V6. what kinda horsepower can I expect from this jeep ?

I have an 86 cherokee 2.8v6.

the jeep is cool but the motor

blows. Its slow as hell and has no power.

Could you tell me what your 0-60 or 1/4 time

would be approx? It will chug through some shit

though. Also what rpm's are you at 60mph?[addsig]

Ah, the 2.8L V6... this GM engine was found in S-10s, Izuzu Troopers and Cherokees in the mid to late eighties and man was it a piece.

I had an S-10 Blazer that had this engine... and while it was reliable and I got quite a few miles out of it, it was also seriously underpowered for the 3500lb body it was lugging around. If memory serves peak horsepower was around 120.
