I'm new to this site, not sure on how these things work! I'm in McMinnville Tn an I'm looking for some parts for a 79 cj5 doesn't matter what, my wife got me this for Christmas and it needs quite a bit of work so I'm looking for Any kind of parts I can find. And also where would I go to find out how the jeep came out stock cause that's what I'm going for! Thanks for any help.

your just going to have to find the other cj5 guys on here and ya'll swap pics and google everything. i have no idea where you find how it came out of hte factory since its so much older. i had a hell of a time finding out how mine came and its only an 87 model

What kind of things are you looking for.. 4 wheel parts is a good resource for stock parts...

What do you mean by "came stock"? As far as drive train go,s it came with a AMC model 20 rear axle, dana 30 front axle, T-150 3spd or T-18 4spd trans, 3.54 or 3.73 gears(most are 3.54 stock) the 3.73 was option. 258 6cyl or 304v-8. Dana 20 transfercase, and most had power steering.
