HOLY $@#$ dont know what else to try

is the carb bolted tight to the base plate at the maifold seal (air leak)? Fresh gas tank? Add some alcohol and one teaspoon of white cane sugar into the gas tank. Also, a hidden vacuum leak will cause this and if it is small the sugar will seal it, generally. Let us all know. Robert

    Eating starters

You may have a bent main shaft from the engine. Your problem is not common. When this cocurs, it is best to replace the flywheel and bendix at the same time and test for wear--Use factory parts. Do not mix-match the bendix and flywheel with third party parts. If you then meet with bad wear...

    Brake drum Froze (rusted on)

Youv'e done the right thing with the WD-40, and perhaps some liquid wrench. DO NOT USE HEAT. Let sit, and this may be for as much as a week, keep soaking repatedly, and tapping often, gently, and it will free itself in about that time. Be patient. Or as suggested, in tanum with above, a...

    is this trouble?

blowby oil to engine compartment, valve cover interior, dipstick, etc. CURE: Replace PVC filter and line and reinstall fresh one with an additional one in rear or front of valve cover, wherever there is room on the top of the cover. This is normal 4.0, 4.2 behavior, and no harm...

    winches

MileMarker seems to be a good fit and machine, in the ones I have on VEX F & R. I lost interest in Warn years ago and Ramsey ate gears. Just my experience Robert

    Ok, I'm sorry, I've got another one. . .

You have what is called an 'open' in your wiring hookup to the starter solenenoid. CURE: Go to any parts house and ask for a copy of the starter-solenoid-ground set up instructions sheet for you Jeep, year, and starter set up. Re-wire correctly. Robert

My turn, "Help my Jeep won't start"

This is the most likely, based on symptons. When the SSI and the module fail, they fail as described. Robert

    transmission

A cheap brake line air flusher pump works good for voiding all moisture from the dark hidden confines of the slush box. Since, the water is thinner in viscosity than the oil, oil will remain, water evaccs. Robert

    I NEED HELP!!!!!!!

First, if it is a 6 get rid of the Weber and go with the 390 4 barrel Holley W/offroad kit. Did you check valves? Are you certain it is aspiration/fuel? The 390 Holley loves, and lives well, with our 6s. FI as a last resort Robert

    electrical problems...

You have an 'open**' in the light switch itself. Change the light switch unit first and that should do it. If trouble remains, change both the flasher and emergnecy and brake fuse cans in the fuse panel Robert **as opposed to a 'short'

    Really need some help!

The key to your post is that the vibration stops with clutching. Cure: it is the throwout bearing and collar but check drivelines first. Robert

    4wd on pavement, now what...

RE: Hardtop weight? You have 'broke' nothing. That smell is the smell of 90 weight oil when it is heated beyond application due to 'gear windup' while driving in 4 WD on pavement. Change nothing, hurt nothing. If you were to drive 45 miles like that, the Jeep will come to a stop, since it...

New body and frame, now it won't start.

RE: Looky at what I did! Make sure you run a ground as described just above, but ground to the engine block and make sure the block is grounded to the frame and battery negative post too. Try it.

    f-L-e-X questions

I need a "how to" on replacing a 97 TJ clutch! Depending on gear ratio the 33" are a great choice. With a 4" lift there shouldn't be any rubbing but a 2" body lift is nice and looks good in addition. The big thing, with your thread title as 'flex';. Then, go with Revolver Shackles, sway...

Do you read or like JP Magazine?

When it was first started by the original owner, it was really a great piece of media and a good source. Under Primedia, with all the attitude and gimmicks and such, I've tired of its caustic nature, so to speak. I subscribe, but won't probably renew after this runs its course.

    CJ doesn't run right...engine surges

I had a Jeep CJ-7 do this to me for some time until i figured it out. If your filter, pump and lines are new, it is in the tank and the fungus that grows all over the corny filter that is OEM. You have to toss that filter and run an extra filter just before the fuel pump entry line, about 6"...

    CRAP Fuel sender unit!

The fuel sending unit is having troubles for two reasons. First, the gauge wire ground is faulty and is a known problem with all the CJs. CURE: Cut a hole in the floor of the bed over the spin out cap on the top of the gas tank, which is easier than dropping the tank, and pull out the...
