    shackles question (spring over)

beleive me,,dont use the extended shackles with a SOA and Lift springs..i have already tired it...aside from the fact that it wears your springs prematurly and causes even steeper steering (drag-link) angles and also cause the spring to hang lower it just lloks bad on a huge jeep  i took...

    Need advice on installing Lift

with the 1inch BL you dont need to lenthen or reposition the t-case shifter or move the rad down..so there is no extra parts needed..and since your jeep is fairly new the body mount bolts shouldnt give you 2 much trouble... i would go with the spacer that bounty mentioned over the BL tho.

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

on a cross-over i beleive the tie-rod bar is still under the springs but the drag link is above the spings....same principle as a hi steer but only on one side.. or is it the cheerokee style steering set-up with the the v-shape? Sh$t i cant remeber  anyone know?

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

you may have to make and bend a drag link to fit...but you will need to fit a tierod bar first to dettermin if it has a hole in it for a drag link... i am sure there are companies out there that can make you something but it might be expensive.

    axles

my stock 31 spline 9inch had held up to my 39.5 tsl's all summer....mind you they are in mostly mud and trees and very few rocks. however if i could do it again i would start out with a 14 bolt.

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

with the SOA you may find that is the only set-up that works...it was for me cause i didnt want to have any z bend draglinks on my rig  the hi steer arms are cheap but finding the right knuckles, spideles, hub assembley and various brake components can be tricky

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

leaving the tires on also makes it easier to pick up the axle as well... .anyone who has move a front end around knows what it feels like to pinch a hand inbetween the tierod bar and tube... leaving the tires on also means that one person can move the axle around in case it get in the...

    Locker in Dana 35

yeah i agree with frankie...most people who dump lots of money in the 35 regret it...i know i regret just replacing the bearing and spider gears in my old 35  and if you do still want to lock that 35 look at welding it (or spool)as a cheap alternative to nosiy, lane changing, expensive...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

i dont understand why you guys wouldn't make an axle swap easier by leaving a set of small stock tires on the axle( for my swap i had an extra set of small tires for the axles)....it doesnt take any extra time to lift the jeep an extra foot or so.. it is doable without the tires on the axle but...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

i couldnt find any pics of my rig when it was on blocks but i send you one that had a similar idea.. A jackall is the most loved and hated tool in the offroad world   it is a jack that works vertically and without a hydrolic clyinder or pump. there is a pic here...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

i used a jack-all to lift the jeep and railroad ties as blocking and 6-ton jack stands under the frame to hold her up...i jacked from the front and rear bumpers  Also i got mine up high enough that i could roll my front end UNDER 3.5 inch lift spring with the tires on....it was pretty tall...

just scored a dana 44 front

yeah i couldnt really tell from the pic...Junkpile are any waggy 44's true flat tops? cause some of the ones i have seen COULD work as there is enough material there to throw 3 studs in. The only difference i can see in the waggy knuckles is that they just arent as huge as the chevy ones.

Just scored a rear 14 bolt (man I am on a roll)

the u-bolts will hold those axles under the jeep. Just cut off the old perch and slide the new one to where you want it, point the pinion, bolt her together and wait for a buddy to weld her up. the front may be more tricky as you have to deal with that built in cast perch tho.. oh...
