After further investigation, I am assuming that the rear seal from the X-fer case is leaking. Has anybody replaced this seal? Is it difficult? Any input?

I have recently been smelling something funny burning when I turn off the YJ. There is a reddish brown liquid being flung around where the rear shaft leaves the transfer case and it is getting everywhere (burning on muffler). What is this and what is wrong? How do I fix it? Should I be driving it?

Just a trim package I think. Kinda like a special edition. I had a Rio Grande YJ at one time and the custom paint,decals,and the interior seats were the only difference from a plain YJ. I think Twisted has an older YJ Sahara.

Look at yours and determine if you have a intregal pipe. I have changed my 90 and it was a V-belt reverse rotation non-intregal. They are all different......bring it with you or look carefully.

I mounted one under the rear seat (above the gas tank) a long time ago and like 3 Jeeps ago. Make sure you know whats down there and be careful not to penetrate through the hole and into something else after it is made. It's a good idea to use plumbers putty or something simular to keep out...

I will give that a shot. Sounds like that could be it. Looks like the oil is either leaking from the sending unit or strangly enough, coming from the dipstick tube. It's a very small amount and it's burning on the block.

I have seen a strap snap and go right through the radiator of some guys Bronco. Pretty scary now that I think about it.

I bought a decent sending unit. Even if, that doesn't explain the small spills and strange smell (like burning oil). It only acts up when the guage is reading off the charts. I got a working cluster from a friend and he never had any problems with it. When it reads correctly, it runs perfect.

Just bought this 2006 Nissan Titan. Puts out 305 HP and will burn E85. The most power in it's class.

I live in TN also and went to KY. Bought my 90 YJ 2.5 with 140k in KY for $3,500 and I looked forever. Also bought my 2001 XJ for a steal in KY. They seem to have the best deals around. Worth the drive!!!
