So, that eternal question, what happens when you are re-inking the ribbon on your typewriter, and the syringe jams up with about 2 ml of ink in it?

Yeah, just another day in the life

HA!
That stinks! I thought those things were extinct. I thought they died off shortly after the Do-Do bird. :)

Sean................a TYPEWRITER!!!!! Are you SERIOUS!!!!!

Looks like the aftermath of me re-filling our black ink-jet cartridge. That stuff's worse than grease!!

BTW..........Nice beer glass in the background!!!!

Yea, I think them Typewriters rank up there with PJ, BigFoot, and Nessie. Well looks like a :bomb: went off. how did the cleanup go?

OMG. that sucks. Good luck with the cleanup and wwhat was the damage cost? Oh and by the way, thanks for the flashback. I forgot what a typewriter actually looked like. :)

Screw the ink, I want to hear the story behind the bullet hole to the upper left of the glass.
BTW...A product called "Goof Off" will get that ink off your computer. I got it at Lowes last time in the paint area.

Why are you using a typewriter when your computer is in the same picture as well? Kinda ironic....don't you think?

Some grants/scholorships make you Type out your paper, they even look to see the ink signatures because the stamp doesn't leave the exact same mark on the paper it's a little diffaranet in some way, i guess it is to try and make sure that somone put real time into the paper and it isn't just a genaric paper that has been printed out and turned into 1000 other places also.

Hmm... Well, cleanup, I windexed the monitor and keyboard, it came right off, got it while it was still wet. Came off my mixing equipment as well, that's not in the picture. As for the walls and bulletin board, those are staying like they are till I get more ambitious.

Not a bullethole in the wall either, was knocking out some drywall to run the network cable into my room after I moved back in, fortunately for the structure of the house, I realized that I was 2 feet outside the connecting wall; if the hole went through, I would have been through siding and into the outside world.

Yeah, I love my Jeep glasses... The TJs are cursed though. My TJ beer mug got smashed when it fell from the Jeep and hit the driveway. The TJ pilsener glass has a chunk busted out of it from my mom when she was putting it in the dishwasher.

As far as the question as to why I would use this antique... My computer is alive and well, and quite a nice machine... It's, well... It's nothing tangible really, certain things just write better in certain media... I have an old keyboard for example, the keystrokes are just more comfortable for me. Some things I write in rollerball, some things in feather-quill pen with an honest to goodness inkwell. This happened to be the beginnings of a story that popped into my head, and it just felt better writing it on the typewriter, flowed better... Unfortunately, my train of thought sort of derailed, and a large part of it was covered in ink, when I tried to go back to writing it, I couldn't remember how I had worded it. I hate that.

But yeah, the desk is still a mess.
