Never done it, but I have heard people use boating shops for replacing the zippers too.

The straight 6 doesn't have multiple O2 "banks." The code says "bank 1" because the OBDII is a universal system, and therefore needs codes for different banks b/c of other engine configurations. "Bank 2" codes simply aren't used on the 6.

Sorry, 2000 XJ. 4wd confirmed with all 4 wheels off the ground, put it in drive to allow the rear wheels to rotate, shifted into 4wd and confirmed the fronts began to spin as well.

When I switch into 4x4 the dash light doesn't come on anymore. I have confirmed it is going into 4x4, and I can make the light come on by disconnecting the harness at the switch and jumping the harness terminals. Looks like the switch is bad. Is this as easy as unscrewing the old switch and...

I have the same question about this that the OP asked, so I'll bump. Is this transmission fluid trick a temporary thing to clean out the engine that you can do before an oil change, or is this something you guys leave in the engine for a while / permanently?

If you had your radiator replaced recently, you probably have a big slug of air in your heater core. There's also a blend door in the box to control temperature. It could be stuck, keeping the air from blowing over the heater core. The motor is on the bottom of the box, just to the passenger...

4 qts in a 6 cyl is not enough oil... Check your manual.

There is a vacuum motor that opens/closes the door in the air box. It could be bad, or the vacuum accumulator could be bad as described, or the switch could be bad. Could just be a hose popped off.

You can pick up a nice YJ tub for much less and not worry about the modifications that go along with switching to fiberglass.
