i have a 95 yj sahara,i just fixed my passanger side motor mount for the 3rd time, the bolts keep sheering off in the block!!! i dont really off-road that much , i have a i-6 engine any body have a solution,or a suggestion to prevent this?

what kind of bolts are u using? i would just go to stronger bolts

What does the other side look like ??? Are you tourqeing them properly ??? Take a look at the engine when someone else pushes on the gas ...see if it moves towards the passenger side...:)

the other side is and has always been fine!!!

Hmmmmmm something else is wrong the bolts shouldn't be shearing ??? How many miles can you go before it happens???

Are you checking to see if they are losening after a while of driving ....is it the bolt or the head that is shearing off???

its probably a freak of nature, i got the same problem with my jeep but its nto the motor mount bolts its the sway bar disconnects i broke about 3 sets allready

I would say put some lock-tite on and give it a try and see if it does it again....Sounds like the bolt is backing out .....and snapping...:)

last time it happened (last thursday)we tryed lock tite so well see, time before last we used lock washers ,they didnt work, they got to be backing off cause the broken about 1/4 of the way from the bottom of the bolt

It is rattleing lose then and that is why it is breaking are you sure you are using the right size bolts and threads????

are the holes wallowed out? is the bolt too small for the hole try a bigger bolt

Check your transmission mount and transmission torque mount, if they are shot it will allow excess drivetrain rotation, breaking something, in your case the motor mount bolts.

block up the motor/transmission and remove the skid plate. check the rubber mounts for breaks and the bolts attaching to the transmission.
