XJ T-Case Wont Stay in 4L

I Have A 93 XJ auto, I can lock it in 4L and it pops right back out, 4H Works Fine No problems, that being said have a 84 NP-208 with a 27 spline input, if my xj case is bad, or if it destroyed:bomb: later could i swap it in?, or is my stock one have a easy fix? thanks for the input in advance!

Sounds like a linkage problem. Can you put it in manually and it stay?

Be sure to remove the linkage off the t case first then shift the t case by hand then take for a short drive.

Likely a linkage problem.

The 208 will not work, your tcase likely has the 23spline input.

yep I tried manually shifting way before I started typing on here, I though maybe something commonly internal breaks?

The plastic fork guides always break.

Detents can wear. Gotta tear it down and look

Drain and inspect the fluid, look for any bits of plastic or metal.
