Wiring question

I installed a remote start/alarm in my 03 Rubicon (M/T) I have not bypassed the clutch yet for safety reasons. I am looking to see if anyone has the color/location/polarity of the following wires:

E'brake (the wire that tells the car that the E'brake is on)
the transfer case neutral switch (tells the car that the TC is in neutral)

I have a service manual on CD-Rom, but I dont have the necessary degree in rocket science to read it! Any help is appreciated! I know that both of those wires exist, I had the colors for them at one point, but at the PCM... I would rather tag the wires inside the cabin if possible. Thanks! -Steve

Hi, It sounds like you have a copy of the factory wiring diagrams? If not, try AllData. They have great electrical schematics.

If you're just having problems reading the schematics, I can't help you much unless I see a copy of them . Usually the wire size and color is marked for every wire, usually something like 12 ORN/WHT which translates to #12 AWG wire size, Orange in color with a White tracer stripe down the side

I would greatly advise against putting a auto started on a manual transmission vehicle. I use to work at a delership and we had a miata come in on trade that someone bypased the clutch. while one of the guys was buffing it it started and ran into a cabnent and wall. It compleatly smashed the cabnet and was sitting there spinning until they could shut it off. It is just not a safe thing to do. If some one was in front of it they would have been in a lot of pain....

PUSWA!

Just trying to be like me! R/S in a stick!

AV the reason why steve has not completely hooked up the R/S is because of this reason. All remote starters have a Neutral safty option which is hooked up about 1% of the time, cause of the complexity of some of the transmission sensors on foreign vehicles (Damn foreign cars!!) Plus most shops won't install on sticks!

Steve, I forgot to tell you, look into a infa-red sensor. I know they have them. I would do a internet search. Not really cheap, but worth it! It will go around the shifter under the boot, and will send a neg signal to the R/S brain. I installed one in my buddy jeffs altima, they are real easy to calibrate, and are real small. I would just get into the habbit of checking it after wheelin trips!
