Why fiberglass fenders?

When I bought my CJ he had fiberglass fenders...just wondering what the benefit is?

They dont rust.

Could be what was avail at the time...theyre lighter weight...personally I prefer steel parts, but I tend to do alot of things the hard way! Lol! :roll:

the ones on it are steel and I am gonna leave them since they arent rusted and sell the others....
