It's just what I read, wouldn't be the first time I've been lied to about a vehicle. I know the numbers are under ideal circumstances. I think the older Jeeps with the right options get better mileage than the newer ones, from what I've read.Yeah --- The. 2.5L DID get pretty Good MPG--- Right off the Show Room Floor! But, I would be more Inclined to Believe the EPA Numbers: 25MPG - HWY; 19- City; 22- Combiened! I think JEEP pumped UP the Numbers a Tad! (To Sell Jeeps) How MANY of our friends with '82 CJ's -- are getting 28MPG? (Hwy) Not many! Comments? JB
I don't think 20MPG is outta reach for mine. It's getting 15 with the tires aired down a bit to help with the harsh springs it has. It also still has the factory exaust and convertor. By the time I add headers, duals and an electric fan it'll come up some. Also it still needs a bit of tuning, I haven't put a timing light on it since I dropped the distributor in.
