What's the biggest tire you can fit on a CJ5 with no lift?

My buddy is taking the lift out of his CJ5 and dropping back to stock springs. He's just bought a set of 32x11.50's and is hoping they will still work with the stock springs. They're mounted on 8" wheels. I'm thinking they'll fit, he'll probably never take it off road so if they're snug it'd be ok. It's an 82 model, don't know if that matters.

Assuming the springs are in good shape and not all sagged out, they will fit. most 32" tires usually measure closer to 31" which was a stock size tire on several CJ5's

I run 32 on mine and have never heard them rub. However make sure the front end is tight or it will wonder like a B___h.
