Does anyone know what the max warpage allowed is for the manifold side of the head is on a 1989 4.2 ? i measured .002 of warpage i had my intake milled thinking that was the problem but still have a leak that make me run with the choke on all the time . i pulled it all back apart and mesured Thanks for any help

I would check the gasket under the carb

.002 is nothing. Check all of the vacuum lines. Make sure that none are cracked and splitting.

If you think you have a leak near the manifold, the easiest test is to spray some carb/TB or WS40 around the intake and carb or TB area with the engine running. If there is a leak the idle will change when you spray the leaking area.

If you milled the intake did you mill the exhaust? On mine, both have to be the same thickness for the proper torque to be applied to both exhaust and intake manifolds.

Also have you replaced the manifold gasket?
