What is track bar for?

I have a rancho 2.5 inch suspension. The kit came with its own front track bar. This new track is quite diferent from the stock and i have noticed that is hiting the front axle housing when the suspension goes down. What would happend if i just remove the track bar? What if i replace this new rancho track bar with the stock one? TNX[addsig]

They are to give stability to the steering and keep the front end from shifting side to side. In other words you would be all over the palce with out em on the road. If you put the original ones back on you would have to use some sort of relocation brackets or else the old ones would be to short. You get more flex without the track bars so many use a disconect track bar. Hook up for road driveing and un hook for off road driveing. Now one of two thing are going to happen. One I am right here and I will look like I have learned something here. Or 2 I just showed again how dumb I really am! Either way good luck! Tug :-D [addsig]

The stock trackbar will work fine with 2.5" of lift, although the front axle may be slightly off-center. This is liveable, but can be corrected my redrilling the lower mount.[addsig]
