What else is involved in a spring over besides the lift?

I was going to do a spring over this summer but I figured it to be too expensive so I'm hoping for next summer. Just wondering what else is involved in doing the lift besides the lift itself? I know I'm going to need a sye kit, cv driveshaft, and longer brake lines. What about steering linkage and do I have to relocate the shocks as well? I read somewhere I would have to relocate the shocks. Anything else involved? I'm also planning on running 33" Swamper TSL SX's. You think these'll look too small with the 2 1/2' spring lift I already have and the 7" lift the spring over will give me? I could go to 35" tires but I don't want to have to regear.

the spring over will give you a 5.5 inch lift, plus the 2.5 will be a total of 8 inches... i believe that 33's will look great... remember, you don't want ot cram the wells up.. you don't HAVE to relocate the shocks, but it is suggested that you do... you'll have to get all new shocks anyway.. for steering, you'll have to do one or a number of a few things... Zbent drag link, Dropped pitman, crossover steering (high steer)... the dropped arm and/or the zdrag will do you fine, but the draglink will be below the springs and open to get hit.. we used the zdrag alone and have never had a problem... check out http://members.cardomain.com/bigblkpjcrusher for our SOA project.... DO NOT try to do the brakelines like we did... we only did it that way to get it out and test it, doesn't seem to safe.. but the jeep has been driven about 20,000 miles or more with them like that with no problems

Consider using stock springs and recovering some of your expense by selling the 2.5" lift springs. The stock springs will flex better, and the 5.5" of lift will easily clear he 33" tires without increasing your center of gravity more than necessary. Keeps things less tipsy.

You may also need a longer driveshaft, i did not need to use the SYE, but some do. Also think about lifting the transfercase as well to gain more clearance. Mine has 33's no problem, I could clear bigger tires, but by the time I added everything i gained about 11 all together. new shocks, body spacer, and the SOA lift. I need new springs those are next and will give me even more. Good luck I love my SOA.

a YJ will need the SYE... gator was fortunate enough to already have a fixed yoke on her output so she didn't have to use it
