What does it mean when your engine is barely revving?

What does it mean when you take off in the morning and sometimes your jeep barely revs when trying to accelerate? 4.7 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Have you replaced the fuel filter and air cleaner yet ?

Is the engine up to temp?


Clogged CAT
Dirty TB
A TPS going bad
Vac or intake leak
Clogged injector
Poor fuel pressure
Lugging the engine from too tall tires and too tall gearing or wrong gear

Hi. No I haven't checked yet but will look at the things you guys wrote. Would you happen to know if it oil dropping on 3 different spots like a triangle could be the issue as well or that plays no role?

Also I may be exaggerating as it never happens if I leave it started for 15 seconds in the morning. Maybe i need a new seal? Front seal leak?

Never changed the fuel filter. It's a 4.7 it says in the maintenance site to wait for a code?

Oil leaks are common on engines and I dont think that is the problem in your case. Filter changes are done by how many miles you have driven your jeep. My manuel says to replace the fuel filter every 60.000 miles.
