I like it. It gives us "regulars" a quick snapshot of what's new. It's a keeper if you ask me.

OH, SNAP!! I just re-logged in and scrolled down and there it is. I didn't notice it a few minutes ago. Maybe a quick-link to the "USER CONTROL PANEL". That would be the cat's a**.
