Seriously... I know it sounds silly, but for the past few weeks my Jeep Liberty (2004 Sport) has been making a strange "woo-woo" sound. It's like a friction sound that I think is coming from under the car.
It doesn't happen ALL the time but when it does it will go on and on and then just stop, and it's not a squeak or squeal. It's not the brakes, those are relatively new and I don't think the rotors are warped as there is no vibration when stopping. It can't be heard when going more than 20mph or so and when it can be heard and I press lightly on the brake it stops.
I had my Jeep in for an oil change and inspection a couple weeks ago and I asked the technician about it. He drove it around the lot, heard it and said he had no idea but maybe it was the drive train? I don't know what that means.
If anyone can help, I just need some ideas on what it MIGHT be - I'm a single female and don't want to be taken by a shady mechanic when I bring it in to be diagnosed.
Thanks in advance and if you need more information from me to be able to speculate what it might be please just let me know!
