Waterfall sound/noise coming from dash!!

Okay when I crank and start my '98 Laredo I get a lot of water sounds from what sounds like behind the passenger side dash board. It sounds like running water, swashing around and then it stops after about 5-10 seconds. It doesn't do it alot, but usually on the first crank of the day. Also if it's a cool day, like overcast but muggy enough to run the A/C, I'll get a lot of frost coming out of the A/C vents. It's a little bizarre looking to see that much frost come out. I'm thinking the frost if from that water that I'm hearing condensing or something? Anyone experience this or got any ideas? Thanks in advance. :-D [addsig]

You have a plugged Evaporator water drain hose. When you run the Air conditioner, the Evaporator coils get gold and condensation forms. The Evaporator box has a drain hose that channels the water out of the vehicle. I don't know exactly where the hose drains on this model year, but if you look outside under the passenger side of the car, you should see the rubber drain hose below that side of the dash. If this hose is plugged, the water has nowhere to go except through the vents (if it doesn't leak out into the foot well.)

Hope this helps

That sounds pretty logical, thanks for the advice. Now to find that hose and see if it's plugged. Anyone out there with a '98 or so ZJ that might know the location of this hose?

Can this lead to bigger problems other than frost and/or leaking onto the footwell?[addsig]

Yes. If you let that water sit in there long enough, you'll could get mold growing on your evaporator coil or in the vents. Or worse, the water moisture could get into the blower motor resistor block that sticks into the Evaporator housing :-O. Have you looked under the Jeep? You might be able to see it sticking out. Once you find it, use a small piece of wire to try and unclog it.
