Hi All,

Good to be here. Just want to know is it cool for a CJ7 to have a venting windshield? 8)

the vented windshield was used on some of the first jeeps made. I dont see it going on a cj7. The heigth of the windshield is probably diff (not positive) the wipers are on top of the windshield instead of the bottom and they are vacumn operated although some were hand operated, You would have to get windshield brackets for a early cj. The top of the windshield is curved instead of almost straight, not sure what problems that may cause fitting a modern top. I think it would actually be kinda cool but see many problems with it. Good luck and let us know if you do it.

I'd think you would have to find one first, then fab it to work on a CJ7 tub. Or just fab one of your own? Hate to be the party pooper, but you'll also need to check with your State's MVA/DMV. Most States have restrictions on windshields that can be removed, hinged or are not permately attached, the materials they are constructed of, what driving conditions they are permitted and the additional saftey equipment required during their use.

-Just a thought

Hi Guys,

Actually I am working for MD Juan in the Philippines We make the body

tubs for the old jeeps for replacement and restoration. We're thinking of Making the venting windshields for CJs.

Just wanted to ask if Cj7 or Yj owners would be interested as well.

i think they would be cool and they are ok in texas. just not on the highway.

no idea man. i would probably not buy one because i am very cheap about buying stuff so i would buy the one that drops back in place the easiest

I drive with no doors and no top on my YJ so there is no need for a vented windshield for me.......
