I have a 2000 jeep grande cherokee with about 160K and my transmisssion keeps acting up. I know my jeep is old but the transmission only slips when I make turns or if I am heading up hill - is it possible that the fluid is just low or does this sound like the transmission is going to drop soon? thanks in advance

Thats a typical symptom of either a low fluid or the transmission filter gasket/ seal is leaking, meaning, the fluid in the pan at level ground is able to be sucked in through the filter or through the leaking gasket/seal but as soon as the fluid is insufficient to reach the leaking seal during a turn or an uphill climb, the pump will loose prime and inturn loose clutch engagement due to a lack of pressure.
