Transmission Issue

Well my transmission is pretty much toast. I need to get a new one. It's an automatic 30rh (999) according to Chrysler when I called and asked them. Any opinions on replacing it. What type of transmission? I can't switch it to a manual because I don't have the cash for that. I really need some help. I can't stand having the Jeep just sitting in front of my place and not able to drive it.

No one around here carries very many Jeep parts because they get bought up so fast or they just keep the parts for themselves!!! Share the wealth people! :lol:

one question... are you sure the transmission is a 999 and not a 904, i thought 4cyl auto used the 904

Well I called the Chrysler customer service line and they told me that I had the 30rh Torqueflite??? I am not excatly sure if they were telling me the right thing. I don't have the owner's manual because they previous owner didn't have it.

www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/trans/30rh.html check this site out....I am confused now. The 30rh and 999 Torqueflite are two different transmissions. So I am assuming that I have the 30rh since I have a 95 2.5l

I think TCS is a sensor, you'll just reuse yours. One has a broken bellhousing, stay away from that. Another had red fluid when it was drained, I guess meaning it was in good shape. Another one was incorrectly tagged a 6cyl. transmission, but looks like it's for a 4banger.
