transmission help

Hello, I have a 1995 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 318 V8 and the transmission has gone out, recently my friend rolled her Laredo and said i could have the transmission out of it, her jeep has the 4.0 inline 6. Is the bolt pattern the same on both engines??? Both transmissions are automatic.

I don't think it will work. The 318 is likely a Chrysler bellhousing pattern and the 4.0L is akin to the AMC 304. The output is different as well, so there would be issues with bolting up your transfer case to that transmission.

What did your transmission do? Is the transfer case operating okay? That's the common problem with v8 ZJ's.

it is slipping ALOT probably because of all the power in the 318 hehehe
the jeep used to be able to outrun our camaro
so it probably wouldn't work with the 4cyl either would it?, one of my friends has a wrangler that the transmission is going out in

No, wouldn't work. 4cyl and 6cyl and 318 all have different bellhousing patterns.
