Took the wrangler offroading for the first time

I finally got a chance to take my 05 wrangler offroad last weekend. It had been a while since I had last been offroad, back then it was in my 85 CJ7.

It really was a new experience in this more modern Jeep. Not to bash guys with older rigs, but my CJ barely ran, and having a new Jeep made a world of difference. Instead of trying to keep my old CJ7 running, and coaxing it up hills without stalling I just powered right up.

I was one of the smallest Jeeps, with no lift, so I scraped a little on some of the taller rocks, but it really was a blast.

Went to shoe creek (slick rock) out near charlottesville. It was a good trip with some guys from the Virgina Beach Jeep Owners. Great group of people, but we had to meet in Newport News at 6am - way to early for me.

Yea I thought that's what it looked like. Shoe Creek is a fun little trail. I've run it a lot with my club. Used to drive mine when it was still legal, broke my dad in there with his Rubicon, and now just ride along and camp there when I can. I enjoy it, it's a nice throwback to just trail riding for me cuz of all the extreme crap I do. I really want to build a street legal rig again just for trails like that. I miss it.
