Where did you go for your honeymoon? We will be getting married within the year or so and are makin plans now.

i know i know. im not married yet, but for our honeymoon we are gonna go backpacking / camping through Europe.

Anywhere in Mexico is good. I have been to most of the popular destinations and have no complaints. Went to Puerto Vallarta on my honeymoon, probably my least favorite.

We took it easy and went to the beach. My parents have a place in Perdido Key, FL so that made it pretty cheap.

However, we got engaged on a ship cruising the southern Carribean. That is an awsome trip. Consider a cruise if possible.

7-day 5-island carribean cruise with Carnival, would do it again in a heartbeat. St. Thomas and Grenada were probably two of our favorites. St. Lucia was cool too.

i'm not gonna suggest a place, but do yourself a favor... go the week after you get married. you will be so pooped the day after the wedding to really enjoy yourself, and then you have enough time to pack and such.

We really didn't go anywhere right after we got married- we still had friends and family here from out of state- but later that year we went on a cruise- of course it was great. Our wedding was awesome- we got married in Cataloochee National Park, and had the reception in the group camp sites- we rented them all for a whopping $60.00- we had hot dogs and hamburgs on the grill and had the best bluegrass band for the music. Then, because they close the road to the park at sunset, we invited folks to stay and camp- and quite a few did. You can have alcohol in the camp sites at a national park- so we stayed up and drank beer and had a great time- one of these years we're really going on our "honeymoon"- to Alaska! it doesn't matter where you go, you'll just be so darn glad that you're married and all the stress of the wedding is behind you- you'll be happy in your own back yard!

We just went to a really nice hotel and crashed after our wedding. To much going on with the wedding to really care about much else besides it being over. On our one year we went to the Bahamas for 6 days and 5 nights. That was a blast! If you go....go all inclusive, you can't beat that. All the food and booze you can consume. White sand and clear waters, very nice. We stayed at the Viva Windham, Fortuna Beach. The price was nice, but not as nice as the accomodations. Total cost was a little over $1,600. I'm not much for traveling, to much going on at home to go much......but I'd go again tomorrow if I could......Mikey

We went to a resort near Cancun. Go for an all-inclusive deal. Its obviously more expensive up front, but once you are there you won't have to worry about much at all. Do yourself a favor and don't go to the Caribbean during hurricane season. Tropical storm Stan parked on top of us the last 2-3 days and really tore stuff up.

Sunshine and I went to the casino north of Topeka for a couple of days after our wedding. However, in October, we had our "real" honeymoon coming back from doing disaster relief work in the gulf when we stopped overnight in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We stayed at the Arlington Hotel there and just enjoyed each other's company walking around the town, then ending the evening with a nice massage at a spa and dinner in the ritzy restaurant at the Hotel.

It's not so much where you go, but who you go with that counts. Sunshine and I are happy no matter where we are, so long as we know we've got each other.

When we got married we spent all we had buying a house and furniture for it. We didn't have money for an expensive honeymoon and didn't want to start off with unneeded debt. The nice thing about that is 5 kids and many years later we're still on our honeymoon and plan on staying here.

I'm gettin married in less than a month (March 25'th) and we aren't gonna go anywhere right away. Can't really afford to go anywhere right after the wedding because of all the expenses and don't want to go anywhere in the summer when it's warm so we're gonna go next winter. Don't know where yet but somewhere warm.

10 days in Aruba
I was there in '94 for three weeks, wasn't much of a honeymoon as I spent half the time training with the Dutch Marines. The other half was partying and waking up at 6am in some resort's beach chair ;)

Ya know, Bounty, when you decide to write your memoirs, I'll be first in line for the book!:purple:

DISNEYLAND! or DISNEYWORLD! I guess it's just the kid in me. We went to L.A. for a week and spent two days at Dland. The rest of the time we just played tourists. It was a lot of fun. With all the money we got from family we were able to stay in one of the Disney hotels and enjoy a lot of the restaurants we wouldn't otherwise have done on our nickel.

We went west...We spent 10 nights in Hawaii. 4 nights on Oahu and 6 nights in Maui. We used our frequent flyer miles to upgrade to first class for the 9 hour flight to Hawaii...AMAZING I love first class on the big planes. Then we hit up San Fran for 3 nights on our way home. Hawaii was 100% worth the expense getting out there. I definitely see a retirement spot there for me.
