How do you prevent 31x10.5 tires from rubbing on the leaf springs of a 95 YJ?

Thanks,

Look on the inboard side of your front rotor, you'll see a bolt sticking out of the knuckle that hits the axle housing at full lock. Back this out on each side and tighten the jam nut. This will keep the tires from hitting, but limit your turning radius. Better to get new rims with less backspacing.[addsig]

right... better backspacing is the better key... if you choose to adjust the stopper... sometimes the jam nut is welded to the adjusting bolt... either replace the whole assembly with a new nut and bolt, or use washers to make your spacing....
to adjust, turn your wheel to just before the tire hits the springs... then turn that adjuster until it is touching its stopper[addsig]

If you limit your turning radius mechanically by bringing out that stop, when you need to make that tight turn and that sliiiiiiight little extra degree of steerage is needed - you won't have it.

Can’t you just control the limit from the steering wheel? Mine rub when fully turned, so i minimize my input to only the turn i need. Besides, lock-to-lock input to the steering gear is not good for the steering pump or the unit itself.

Just a thought.

true that is... I just developed a feel for when my tires start to rub, and I just don't go beyond that point[addsig]
