Timing Help AMC 360

Afternoon Gents, A while back I posted for assistance finding the timing mark for my AMC 360. I believe SteelHeadz responded advising the mark should be at the one O clock position. Now here is my dilemma/question:
1. I found the mark at eleven o clock facing the front of the engine, if you look at the attached pics I have circled the "site window" to read the timing. It appears to me that the PO put the wrong alternator bracket on as it is almost impossible to see. Short of pulling the motor I have looked everywhere for the motor ID numbers to verify what I have and cannot see them. Any advice? I only need this to last for a few more months and then hopefully the new 302 will be built (not holding my breath, machine shop has had the block for almost a month and still aren't finished). Thanks in advance.

If that's the case. Pull the #1 sparkplug and turn the crankshaft slowly with a long wooden dowel in the #1 sparkplug hole until you reach the top dead center. Look at the timing mark and see whee it ses on the markers on the timing cover. Set the distributor from there then snug it. If possible, use a timing light to verify timing at idle if not, i usually just do it by listening and road testing.
