Throw out Bearing

So I just finished changing out a bad water pump on my YJ with a flowkooler unit and the throw out bearing started making noise. I can tell it is the throw out bearing b/c it get quiet when I push in the clutch. It is making the sound like a bearing on it's last leg.

My question is can you replace a throw out bearing without doing any other transmission work?, is it expensive? I have a swapped in BA10, milage unknown and it has had pretty bad gear wine since I lifted the Jeep last year? Any suggestion would be great.

Well you gotta pull the transmission down... But other than that not really. Probably a good idea to replace the clutch since you're already in there though...

That transmission didn't use an actual throwout bearing. It's your hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.

The throwout bearing is on the front of the clutch slave, it's all one unit. Replace the clutch while it's down.

A lift won't cause gear whine, sounds like you have other problems.
