Thinking about this TJ...

I want something more useful than my current sedan. I took this jeep out for a test drive today and it felt like it rolled around a lot, but that could just be me coming from a performance car to a big, tall SUV.

So what do you guys think of this as a first jeep?

I dunno.

At first I thought the jeep was pretty sweet (about half way through the ad), then you get to the spot where they mentioned rolling the Jeep. He rolled it so hard that they had to replace the frame, front clip, front axle, and even the rear tail lights. It's obvious that there's plenty of money invented in this Jeep, but I'd have to really spend a long time checking this out before paying 10 grand for it. My take is that building up your Jeep is part of the fun. I'd shoot for something alittle more stock, wheel it some and build it as you get time (this is assuming you have the time to monkey around with your Jeep).

I'd bet that any Jeep with 6 inches of lift is going to roll alot more than your sedan though. I'd suggest driving a few more Jeeps - even if you do buy this one, just to get the feel.

I asked for the shop paperwork which he just sent me, it looks to me like it was properly taken care of by the shop, not an at home hack job. I really just want something I can just buy and start having fun on. I talked him down to 8k and he is including 2 new front axles and a hard top, soft top and a bikini top.
