Chimay beer...

Have any of you had it? Meant to be drank out of a Chimay snifter/wine glass, it's the best beer I've ever had. Evidently it's made by Trappist monks in Belgium.

The Coffee Bar I work at serves it, an I want to drink every time I work.

SSOOOO GOOOD! Try it.

Chimay: the art of Trappist cheese and beer.

Meanwhile try every Belgium Beer you can..they're all great. Hoegarten (sp?), Duvel, are also good.

I've heard of that beer a few years ago. The guy that told me about it said it was the best beer out there, made by monks, and was in the neighborhood of about $14 per glass/bottle. I've never put this beer to my lips, nor have I seen it anywhere... actually, I forgot what it was named. Thanks for the reminder, Mingez!

thats the one good thing about Europe only being 50 miles away- a huge selection of superb beers , including 'proper' budweiser ( budvar) not that foul stuff from your side of the pond.

the downside is that there are some foul beers from europe too and you get lulled into a false sense of security and drink them then wish you hadn't:D

Hoegaarden is a fine wheat beer especially the blond (white) mmmmmmm many a hangover has been had drinking that stuff.

Shouldn't be that pricey, in Denver, there's a Belium beer pub called The Cheeky Monk/" (click to see website) and they have all Belgium beers. Goes for about 8 bucks per in there. At my bar, it's only 5 per bottle, so depends. In the US it's 9% alcohol. (which is around the norm for most beers world wide.

Yeah, trust me, most folks here know that Bud, Coors, Michelob (and the like) aren't quality beer. We mostly drink that stuff for it's cost effectiveness during our formative years in High School. Many (not all) graduate and grow up from that.
