As I was replacing an anti-roll bar link I noticed that one of my axle CV boots has broken. I think the joint is noisy too. Are there special tools needed to replace these CV joints? What should it cost to have the dealer do it?

Thanks for any reply!!!:???:

Not really in the way of special tools, you just have to know a few tricks to getting it out.
you can get a new shaft for under $100 usually and it takes about 1 hour to take one out and put it back in.

The dealer will take your head off on something like that. Those flat-raters will milk that thing for book labor and hit you with about a $400 bill.

If you don't want to do it yourself, find a good local garage that will treat you decent.
