Has there been a change in how your brakes operate? ABS? Abs can trigger CEL. Have you been able to pull any codes or pending codes? Abs system faults remain in memory until they're cleared or it's started about 50 times. Check brake fluid in reservoir. Verify electrical connectors for ECU are plugged in. Check elec. connector at pump motor (Hydraulic Control Unit). Check fuses Follow wiring harness to each wheel and check the all connections are secure and wiring not damaged. And check for leaks while your down there too

You said check gauges light? Well thought was cel, would still check these things though. So if a sensor for one of your gauges is acting up that would do it to. Have you done any work to electrical or sensors? When you hit the brakes is it immediate? or does any time pass? Hows your oil pressure? alternator? battery? Pay attention to your voltage dummy light when you're braking and all your gauges for something out of ordinary. I would try to pull any codes as well. Are your lights dimming when you brake?

This is what my owners manual says for my '01 check gauges light illuminates when voltmeter, oil pressure or temperature gauges indicate a reading too high or too low. because when your braking I'm Thinking alternator. Possibly oil pressure but o/p light isn't coming on(unless not working) Question to eliminate oil pressure, does it come on when at idle and braking or when driving and braking? aand how's your temp/coolant? I would take a peek at the oil/coolant to make sure coolant isn't in the oil or vise versa. Coolant in oil can make it overheat though you never mention overheating but worth the look. Soo after all this spamming
1 I should read closer 2. if oil pressure and temps are good next would be the alternator/ battery. And if everything checks out, the sensors themselves are on their way out. For now I would disregard my first post about the brakes

It was the oil pressure sensor sending unit !!! Swapped out old for new in 15 min.! Thanks everybody for your help! Im glad I joined!
