TFI upgrade done in 45 minutes

such an easy mod, that made such a difference. no more hesitation or studdering at stop lights, revs (and pulls!!) all the way to 4 grand. ended up making a jump wire from scratch rather than buying the part and put the new coil on the fender well, had to fab a lil bracket, but nothing big.

so if you count the time to make the bracket and wiring, we'll call it an hour and a half TOPS. the how to made it too easy.

nutter bypass is next..... never done i tell ya!!
 

So what about the wires from the stock coil? Did you have to cut them and splice your new connector on?

snip, snip, male and female bullet conectors on one end, female spade connecors onto the new coil. yellow to positive, green and tach wire (green and white?) to neg. (your new coil should be labeled)
 
I just put the TFI upgrade on my 79 CJ5. It was the best $100 bucks I have put into the jeep! My Jeep has never seen 75 MPH before the upgrade.

:lol: i tweeked on my timting a bit and i hit 85 today. what a great mod i tell ya.
 
Hey, if you do the nutter bypass, take some photos, and submit a how to for it.

Glad you're happy with the upgrade!

having some cat/conv. probs right now, gotta fix that first......whaddyou mean they dont last longer than 20 years?:purple:
