SYE question with my new engine

Hey Guys,
I finally ordered my 350 today. CAN'T WAIT!!! One question about this SYE. I am planning on keeping the shackle lift (my only lift) until I can afford a SOA. I want to do the SOA and 2.5 springs to fit 35's. I would like to go ahead and buy a Tom Wood's custom CV driveshaft and SYE package and use with my 2 inch shackle lift, but can I use that same driveshaft on my SOA with 2.5 springs? Or should I wait to get the new driveshaft and use it on the SOA only? I am not sure if the driveshaft has enough slip in it to accomodate that shackle lift to my SOA. Any confusion in the way I asked it, please let me know! Bryan

you will need a diffrent drive shaft for soa+2.5, also is you are goin soa+2.5 you can fit somewhere in the area of 39'' tires..... 35s will be small...

The thing is, I am not changing out that DANA 35 yet. Do you think I will be alright with 39's and a 350 if I take it easy until I can change axles. Is a normal size DANA 60 out of a chevy truck too wide? How do I cut it down? I was really hoping to be able to stick with my DANA 35 for a while.

Butt what is involved? WHat can I do about taking a stock Dana 60 from a chevy? Do I have to cut it shorter?

it 'doesnt' have to be cut down.... but imho if you are spending $$$ for a 350 and 39'' tires you should spend the cash to have a 60 or a cheaper 14b cut down.... you cut and reweld the tubes and have custom shafts cut and splined also

Ok, what if I only go with the SOA + 1.5". How bad would 35 x 14.50 boggers look if at all?

Don't cut the axle down, you want the width you get. I would run a 14 bolt and a dana 60 front. With leafs you can put full size axles on really easly. You will blow up your dana 35 really fast.

with a SOA you can run at least 35's and with 1.5" you could run 37's or 38's.

What is a descent price for a 14 bolt? and dana 60 driver drop? WHat all will be involvedlike with the brakes and whatnot.

14b bolt should be bout 150-200, the front 60 $800-1100...they are expensive

nope.... 14b are rears only.... rear 60s arent realy expensive either.... but the 14b is stronger
