Switch Question?

What is the name of the switch that dim's and brightens your guage lights and turns on your dome lights? I thought it was a dimmer switch but thats not what they call it in parts stores. I cant find it in advance, autozone, napa or rockauto :x

it's part of the head light switch assembally and yes it is called a dimmer switch, or interior light switch, or dome light switch.

It's called a rheostat

Sometimes confused with a rheostat a potentiometer can still be used as one by simply using the wiper terminal and one of the other terminals, leaving the third terminal unconnected and unused.
