I got into an accident about half an hour ago. I was making a left hand turn onto a road and didnt see a car coming towards my side at first. When I saw them, I instinctivly stepped on it. This caused me to do a 360 and hit my front driver's wheel hard! I stepped out to see the damage. At first I saw that my rim (possibly wheel too) was bent in a lot. I kept walking to the front and noticed that my driver's fender was dented in (I dont even know why), I'm guessing that the body bended causing it to crease. Got back in the Jeep and noticed that the wheel had to be turned to the right about halfway to go straight. Got home and noticed that the Jeep is tilted to the driver's side a little, that the back end of the front driver leaf spring is unhinged, and the driver's shackle is pulled back. Im hoping that it just needs an alignment and a trip to Maaco. Any help or compassion greatly appreciated -Mike

Sorry dude i feel for ya... hell i even oversteered in the rain one time when going around a turn and ended up doing a 180 with cars around, luckily not hitting anything, but i still had to check my pants after.

Anyways good luck with the repair, we both have some work to do(look at my post about the body mount)[addsig]

Bummer dude, sorry to hear that. Don't worry thou, Jeeps are ruff rigs. I got hit and flipped mine on its side. I had pick up use one of my tunder straps to pull me over. Drove it home negative a couple window and part of roll bar, but it still drove like a champ. When I got back I used some prescision tools(10 lb. slegde hammer) and took care of the body work. Good luck with everything, Paul

Sorry - no advice to offer here, other than what Belushi suggests in Animal House, "my advice to you is to start drinking heavily." Good luck.

Are you sure the spring isn't broke or really bent! Ot the front axle whacked out of position? If the impact did infact knock the spring out, it probably sheared the centering bolt (used to hold the spring pack together and align it onto the alxe spring pearch) I'm sure what everbody shop you took it to will the identify all the problems.[addsig]

I feel your pain and am just glad you are OK. Jeeps no matter how much we love and torture them are replaceable and repairable but you my friend are not as easily repaired and not replaceable! Good luck in the repairs and have a great Turkey Day! Tug[addsig]

Thanks for everyone's help! I took her in yesterday and they said that the front driver leaf spring is busted and that i'll need a new rim. They looked at the frame and said that it looks fine and that even if it is tweaked a little, they can align the Jeep so that it works normally. Thanks again! -Mike
