Ok got my 2.5 " lift kit shocks and spriings delivered to the door for my 1999 Wrangler (my first). The plan is to upgrade to 32" tires qustion what can I get away with for a new rim, looking at black steel.:???:
Anything that catches your eye. there are pro's and cons to each rim, Steel vs Aluminum. I have seen both types, fail on the trail, and I have heard the arguments both for and against for so long I don't even listen any more. But in the end, its up to you, and what you want on your jeep, and what you want it to look like after you finish building her.
Its your jeep and your dream of what she's going to look like afterwords.
Black steel rims are a proven design and have been on jeeps longer than dirt has been in existence.
If you want black steelies, then go for it, if that is what you want. If not, save your money, and buy what you want later down the road, because every time you look at your jeep your going to disappointed that you didn't buy what you wanted in the first place.
I would say go with 33x12.5r15 with at least 3.5" of backspacing. you can re-use your stock wheels if you want and run spacers, or look for a 10.5" wide tire. unless your running a tire that is 15" wide, no reason to have a rim wider than 8"
