steering shaft question???

Anybody know how to adjust steering shaft to make it a little longer someboddy told me they were extendable.Please help[addsig]

If you have any problem to extend it maby its a little rusted ...

If you are talking stock, the are not designed to be adjustable. they are designed to collapse in the center only in an accident, so the the steering wheel isn't rammed through your chest. that stings.

They also usually collapse a short distance at the rag joint at the steering box. this is to asborb flex between the frame and body.

I got the flaming river steering shaft, but even those you cut them to fit. they make and "automatic" adjustable shaft(either flaming river or borgeson, don't recall), but I've never used it.
